Question KDE Font Problem

Hi all,
Well, I'm using KDE on FC 6 for some time now. And I was trying to adjust the fonts on my display (Control Center>Appearance & Themes>Fonts) when suddenly something happened and all my fonts turned to some other font that was almost unreadable, and really ugly.
I tried my best to restore the defaults or set things to some other font, but it didn't help. I even rebooted several times but to no avail.

Can you please tell me what to do?

Please note that I had installed the windows system of fonts and it had been working well.

Come to think of it, my entire system's fonts have been screwed. Even GNOME shows the same ugly, overlapping and weird fonts. Please help!

I mainly use slackware so I don't know if this would apply but I would check the following.
First I would see if the fonts are ugly as you say as root versus user, if they were ok as root then I would assume that they are just configured wrong as the user. The easy way to fix this would be simply delete the .kde directory of the user and let kde rebuild the directory when you restart.
