Ive searched the forum......and found several posts dealing with this

Im just wondering .....for the vast majority what sound recording and editing software do you use.......

Don't know, but I'd love to hear from some other pro/semi-pro people as well. God knows it would be nice to use Linux/OSS for some recordings, even if the quality wasn't perfect. It would really open the door to people that can't afford $500-1000 to get a record produced. (This is Michigan, with lots of studios. I can imagine it's more in other places.)

Ive tried audacity and aurdour.....which I think would be good if it didnt take so much effort to get them to record sound from a mic......theres also sweep http://sweep.sourceforge.net and glame http://glame.sourceforge.net
which I havent tried yet but will do as soon as Im through tweaking the others......
