K(DE)-Menu: different startmenu for root and users

Hi KDE-savants,
I'm tying out K-menu. SuSE 8.1 has different structures in the start menu (under the K-button) for root and for the normal users. When I log in as user, I get to edit the start menu of root -- well that's me, too, but I want to change my users menu. Anybody knows how to load the user's structure into K-Menu for changing?

Is right click on "K-button" then select "Menu Editor" will do?

Well, that's part of it at least and at long last, thank you so much. But is is not everything I find in the menu by a long way. What is the philosophy of the KDE-guys here? I mean, usually these things are structured, but this has me baffled. More hints, please ...
