just a heads up about remote Xsessions and disk space

hello everyone,

this is just a heads up to ppl that use remote X desktop sessions and for some reason start getting errors about wrong authentication.

it started with installing the latest version of samba ( v3 ), everything went fine it installed properly and it worked first time, the next morning when i required a remote x session, all of a sudden get odd messages saying that the system cannot get authentication with the X server and could not connect to X desktop on port 11:0.

after me being puzzled for a couple of hours, and services going offline, and stray thaughts about the box being hacked i shut it off from the outside world.

after looking at the system and wondering why this has happened, a quick glance at my syslogs, partmon reveled to me there was 0 ammount of space on /.

after deleting some old tarballs remote X forwarding worked again no problem.

i just posted this as a heads up to others and a reminder to me just incase i forget
