ISDN - No Dialtone when dialling out
Hi. I have this problem on 2 linux boxes, with 2 different ISDN cards. What happens is that when you are trying to dial out with the ISDN, you get the error "NO DIALTONE".
Here's how I dial out (simplified and returns the error every time):
Open ISDN with modprobe capidrv
Open minicom with minicom -s
Tell the programme to connect to /dev/ttyI0 or /dev/ttyI1
In the terminal, I issue the following commands:
ATZ
AT&E0
atdt0860007249
For the first 2, I get OK as a response, and the last one I get "NO DIALTONE" as a response.
This phone number is a local ISP ISDN dial in, but I get the same error when dialling a normal land line as well.
With a normal modem, I would put an AT&FX1 in the sequence, but the ISDN modem returns Error when running it.
ATI1 returns "Linux ISDN".
My hardware is a Duxbury PCI ISDN card (using the Hisax driver), as well as a Eicon Pro 2.0 ISA ISDN card. Both kernels started out with 2.4.18 (RH7.3), but have been upgraded to 2.4.29. All ISDN options have been compiled in, and I have tried with the US or European ISDN options (under Passive cards).
I am at a bit of a loss here, because I want this to work with isdngw, and everything behaves except the ISDN interaction.
Any ideas?
