Internet on Linux Ubuntu

Hi I have a wifi router AC1200 and I would like to know if I can use it to install Ubuntu on my PC.Is it possible? In my router it says that it's only compatible with MACOS.
If not what can I do?

What is the exact make and model number of your router. AC1200 specifically is used to indicate the router supports 802.11ac but it is more important to know what wireless adapter is installed in your PC. If you are using a wired connection only then it should not matter and I doubt that your router is only compatible with MacOS.

Without knowing the exact ethernet adapter in your PC assuming it is probably Gigabyte Ethernet I would say in general that it should be compatible with Ubuntu. If using a relatively new 2.5 or 10G adapter then we will need more information.

Are you referring to an Ethernet switch? No you do not need a switch, a direct connection will work.
