Internet Connection Issues

Hey Guys,

I spent a nice chunk of my day installing Mandrake 9.2 about 20 times after having trouble with the nic card and installing a few program that erased other programs.

I have a DSl connection in which I installed PPPOE. I gets nothing.

I believe the protocol should be dhcp. In the lan status, I gets no IP, the driver seems correct for my Dlink DFE-530TX+. The status has always been down.

Anyone have any suggestions. I am a complete newbie and pretty much need my hand held when it comes to linux. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Well Guys,

Turns out I found a solution to my own problem. I had the OS set to Plug & Play in the bios. Turn if off - Problem solved.
