Question idle a moment in startup process

After changing my hostname manually by editing /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network file, I experience a long pause when my startup reaches the 'Checking Sendmail' level before the [OK]
status is gain.

Can anyone help me to resolve this? I"m using RedHat 7.1

Thanks!

Alex Lee.

is this pause up to 3 minutes? if you, yes it's a host name issue, i had that problem for soooooo long, but as i never rebooted my box it didn't bother me, you need to edit a line in erm.. some file or other... i THINK it's /etc/mail/local-host-names, certainly one file in there. you should make sure your host name is in there. out of interest i'd recommend looking at /var/log/maillog and in there, assuming this is the prob you've got, you'll see that each tiem it loads it deliberatly says it's waiting for 60 seconds or something, as it can't find a host name.
