I am new to linux. I tried installing Debian, SuSE, Mandrake so far and I got major problem with all of them. I think it's hardware problem.
I got computer with no P/S 2 port. I got extra USB instead. I got USB mouse and keyboard. Problem is similar, computer freezing. SuSE, Mandrake, Debian all during the install it happens if I move mouse tiny amount. I got to reboot. Debian, I can't install at all because having USB lecicy(or something called like this) on doesn't all you to go past choosing Keyboard. Once I did get SuSE, Mandrake installed both have same problem! When I use configer and do bit of configering, my computer freeze. I can't do anything. I noticed with Mandrake screensaver turns on after while but keyboard + mouse just stoped working. It's really really annoying and under these conditions I just can't use Linux. It's more unstable then window! I installed Linux on dad's computer and it runs fine but not on mine
Is there way to fix this annoying problem? Does anyone have problem like me?
That is weird. I have never seen such a mobo. What is it so that I can advise against it to others if anyone asks? Do they make serial keyboards? I know there are serial mouses.
I use a USB Mouse on RH8. Works okay. Except scroll wheel, but I know others have got that to work. I just haven't spent the time to fix that function.

i have seen some machines like that. no ps/2 or keyboard
ports or serial even. i think it was a hewlett packard machine, and was pink, and said Barbie on the front.
But i didn't want ot accuse this guy of using a barbie computer.
I prefer a motherboard without all the on-board stuff. When one thing goes, you have to replace the entire motherboard (my first Windows box experience).
It looks like that mobo has everything except the kitchen sink (video card) built in but missing stuff I consider essential (serial ports, keyboard and ps2 sockets).
It's a longshot but you could try something like this. Use a PS2 keyboard and mouse if you have them lying around, or buy a couple of USB to PS2 adapters and use with the above hardware, or something similar.
