How to uninstall rpms

Hi !
I'm using Mandrake 10.0.
first question is when I install rpm( double click on it) where all the files go - at least I want to know where the executable file is located ? ( or the rest of the package)

second question is when I want to uninstall some package, I type rpm -e .
But afterwards I have difficulty naming the package
Let's say I had openoffice1.9-blablabla rpms that I installed .
I see only the scripts in \usr\bin named :
openoffice1.9 , openoffice1.9-writer, openoffice1.9-impress
these the files that are executed.where is the rest?
ok.. so i try
rpm -e openoffice1.9
error: package openoffice1.9 is not installed
so how I can erase it?

Thx in advance for your help !

You actually have to specify the exact RPM database name.. do a:

rpm -qa | grep openoffice

And it should give you the output. It is case sensitive as well.

Get the package name and then do a:

rpm -e <exact-package-name-you-got-from-above-command>

And the majority of the time, rpm's will install to the default directory in which the binaries were packaged with, which are usually in /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin

Try doing a locate or find.

man either command for more details.
