I want to run a webpage off of my linux system's ip address. For example, if someone types in my ip address, they get my page. I basically already have stats setup for my counter-strike server, but I need the page run from the same machine to display them. Thanks in advance.

Red face Wow!

OH MY GOD!!!

that was almost TO much information.......

ah, I believe he is a newbie, as am I.

Informative answers are good......

The answer you gave was SO pointless, you pretty much just wasted time typing.......

While Nabil's response wasn't that helpful it still provided more input that your attempt, and he probably 'wasted' less time typing it than you did yours. Anyway....

As per Doodah's request if you can provide more info about where you are getting the error message it would be useful. I've got no experience of counter-strike server but Apache isn't too bad to get running. If Apache is started then you should simply be able to surf to http://localhost/ and get the default page. If that is OK then I assume that you error isn't fatal, it it doesn't then it sounds like Apache isn't starting at all.

If you have installed Apache to its default location have al ook at /var/lib/apache/conf for the configuration files. The comments in it are pretty good. I think they provide http.conf-example or something like that, copy this file to httpd.conf (in the same dir) and edit it. Then try starting Apache again and see if you get an error.

sorry that I can't be much more help, but we need more details. Apache was the first program I build from source on linux - I was **SOO** impressed with myself... Those were the days, now it just keeps working until I break it by playing with its conf...

Good luck

Jamie...

You can get me on Yahoo! Messenger but not ICQ at the moment, the only problem will probably be time zones, its 3:00am here in the UK and my bed is calling. I'd be more than happy to keep posting help to the forum though, or hit my email address if you want. Its all listed in my user details.

Cheers.
