kindly help me regarding increasing the filesystem. previously it was 20 Gb now i have made to 30 Gb but the changes which i did is not recognized by filesyetem. What is the commands to make my filesystem recognized by upto 30 GB.

I think maybe you want to increase the size of a partition to fill some empty space on your hard drive? parted maybe, or gparted if you want a GUI. It would help if we knew what Linux you are using and had details about what you are trying to do.

Thanks for reply, my problem is that that my "/" has been full now i want to increase this. i m already increases the hard disk size from 20 GB to 30 GB (as this machine is virtual machine which is in ESX server(base server)). tell me how to increase the filesystem, edit(increase) of extra space. OS is RHEL5.
