How to copy to multiple external HDDs reading only once?

I want to copy the contents of HDD1 to HDD2 and HDD 3.
An ideal procedure would be to read the contents of HDD1 only once, and send them to both destinations.
Can this be done?

are you sure that would be ideal? Do you want to copy full disks or partitions? Are those disks have the same size?

No, I do not want to copy full disks, only portions at a time.
