I followed a link in one of the messages in these forums to a site called "MicroSuck.com" where I browsed a bit. I did not download anything nor approved any downloads while visiting the site. Yet, when I visited CNN.com today and read a story about Microsoft extending Windows98 support (http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/biztech/01/13/windows.support.ap/index.html), it read this:

REDMOND, Washington (AP) -- MicroSuck reversed a decision to stop support for some older Windows operating systems, saying Monday some customers in developing countries were not aware of the change.

I went to the same site immediately using Mozilla and all occurances of "MicroSuck" showed up as "Microsoft" as it was intended. I tried to clear my history and cache, etc. in Konqueror then refreshed the page but it STILL showed "MicroSuck" where "Microsoft" was.
As much as I'm not much a fan of Microsoft and especially some of their practices, I'm very miffed that this site happened to sneak something (without my permission) to replace in my browser the word "MicrosSoft" with "MicroSuck".
I do believe MicroSuck.com pulled a Microsoft on me!
I LEFT windows to GET AWAY from this type of garbage. This type of thing does NOT seem very flattering to what I thought the Linux community was all about (freedom of CHOICE for the USER, instead of having something forced down their throats - without their permission yet!)
Ok, now that the world knows I'm ticked off, I would like to kindly ask if anyone here can give me info on how to remove this from Konqueror.
This concerns me. Imagine if they can do that, what they could do with other things, viruses, etc.
Tips on how to avoid this type of thing from happening again with future sites I might visit would be also appreciated.
