I am trying to open the Rsync port (873) in the standard RedHat 9 firewall. Can anyone help me do this? I have no experience with this at all and would greatly appreciate any help!
I assume this will involve a set of iptables commands or something. Please keep in mind that I only have ssh access to the server. Thanks again for any help given.
I am not very sure but I think you should checkout the file
/etc/services
there rsync service might be commented.
Plz also check if rsyncd as well as rsync executables exist on your system.
Although it is normally there but better be sure of it.
