No problem. I must admit, I do enjoy getting into the nitty-gritty of it from time to time. (And, if anyone is curious, I believe a small hack to libc can increase your maximum command line length.)

You could also tar all the files and then extract them wherever you want.

I would use cpio instead of cp.
find <source> -print | cpio -dmpv <destination>
