I have compiled a custom kernel onto an Ubuntu 5.10 on a thinkpad T20 (2.6.15-6). I am trying desperately to get direct rendering working but in order to get to that step I need to install modules I assume because here is the error I get when trying to install the files I need from dri.desktop.org:
