Not sure which utilities you have, so console-only method. Open /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file in any editor (as root). It may be joe, vim, pico...
Then comment out 'Load "glx"' line (by putting # at the beggining). When it's done, search for 'Driver "nvidia"' and change it do 'Driver "nv"'. Save the file. Test it (and install the right drivers).
