Unhappy help me boot into redhat please


ok here goes again im getting no hits on my thread in newbie forum so here i am. yes i am dumb but i want to learn ....linux now i just installed and created a boot disk but red hat wont load (remember i know nothing about hat im doing you know what they call lame-n) well i already had win 2000 and xp installed and dual booting fine on two separate partitions on a 40 gig hd the second partition is broken into 2 logical drives xp on 1 . i installed red hat onto the second im not trying to dual boot it with xp and 2000 i just want to be able to boot into it as i said i did create the boot disk but when i go to boot up it gives an error loadin and ask me to replace the disk and reboot . i dont know what to do can anyone please help i am willing to reinstall if nessesary but dont really want to any suggestion s?

well, you still need to select a boot loader (either grub or lilo) and install that onto the disk, i think. anyway, i'm not sure as i just use grub to dual boot and install that into the mbr. if you're willing to reinstall linux, why don't you just set up either grub or lilo on the redhat install and multiboot?

Talking Corrupt disk!!

I'm afraid if you are recieving the error

"None system disk or read error. Replace the disk and reboot"

or something along those lines, your computer can't read the disk either because the disk is incomplete or corrupt.

which redhat disro are you using?
I may be able to create a bootdisk for you and send it to you via email.
