HELP! I need to remove Mandrake 9.0!

Hello everyone. I have two hard drives. What windoze call's C: is the primary, and I have another one which is dedicated to linux only. I installed mandrake 9, and after having problems with ADSL and trying to get x running, I want to get rid of it. I tryed disconnecting the second drive, and then booted up. All i got was a string of 0101010101. What can I do? I have read another post similar to this, but I think this is a bit different. I really need help as I need this computer running and stable as ASAP! Thank you so much!

Make sure you can still boot into win, so connect up that second drive. Now boot into win, make a boot diskette. Boot up with that, and get to your "A: Prompt" And type:
fdisk /mbr

There is actually an even better way for you since you have Mandrake. Plug in your install CD, and at the point where you press Enter to Continue or F1 for more help (as if you were going to install it again) press F1. Then press rescue. Once it boots up, there will be a choice there to put win boot loader back on. This will also fix your problem for you.

Cool

Thank you MasterC! I wish I had known that I can restore the Windoze Bootloader from Mandrake... it would have saved me a lot of trouble. I did figure out the problem, however:

Disconnect the HDD with Linux on it. Boot up the system with the Win XP install cd. Enter windows recovery console and restore the MBR. Everything should return back to normal. If you need that drive that contained linux, reconnect it, and format it, then partition it in windows.

For more information on the Windows Recovery Console visit: http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;q314058
