Hard Drive devices in Linux
Anyone else notice that the newer kernels use sda sdb etc for hard drive devices in the computer even if they are not serial ATA drives. I for the most part use serial ATA drives in my computers but I got a hankering for some retro and put together an old system from parts in the garage that system uses a EIDE drive but in linux /dev it still uses sda instead of the hda
Anyone know when this changed im a bit behind in the kernel updates as of late. The drives also work just fine this is more of a curiosity question really not a support related one.
