GRUB Spacer Line and Installation

Hello,

I want to add a blank line between the bootable OSs (XP and Debian 3.1) and the Debian 3.1 recovery option.

Debian 3.1
Windows XP
Debian 3.1 Recovery

to

Debian 3.1
Windows XP

Debian 3.1 Recovery

and even better if a line could be added

Debian 3.1
Windows XP
--------------------------------
Debian 3.1 Recovery

Would anyone know how to do this? Either the space or the line.

In addition I want to add another Linux distro to what I already have. I have seen where I should install GRUB to the / directory. Would someone know exactly how to tell the install program to do install to / and not to the MBR?

Could I install it to /(forgot what this directory is)/GRUB/ and then in GRUB say something like hdax/?/GRUB/

Thank you in advance
Philip

I believe you can put
--------------------------------
after the title line, add the root () and chainloader +1 statement as an unbootable choice to satisfy your need.

Generally you tell Grub to put the boot loader in the root partition of say hda7 by typing

grub-install /dev/hda7 and for Lilo you type

lilo -b /dev/hda7

and so on.

Just add as many Linux that take your fancy
