GPL/BSD music

My friend asked me if I can provide him music, that he could play in his store and would be completly legal. He is quite tired of listening to radio, so I need some music, that would be free and Free. And if possible I need a lots of music.
it can be classical, ambient or maybe rock/pop. the ones that are not for him are Metal/hard rock, Rap and Techno/electro/Whatever...
I would be happy if I could get it and will probably donate a bit of money to artist, just please I really need it.

For music, the license corresponding to GPL/BSD is Creative Commons. You could try searching Magnatune, I think they have fairly flexible free/payment schemes.
Haven't tried it though, so I couldn't recommend anything specific.
