Unhappy GLX PROBLEMS!!! Geforce2 MX 400

alrite, here's my story

I have a Geforce2 MX 400 and just installed MDK 8.2 this past saturday, my GLX never worked because I didnt have the drivers ( tried racer, or tuxracer, on thye terminal screen and got glx not loaded or somethin like that) , then I tried to install them from the RPM off of NVIDIAs site and blablabla... then it still wouldnt work, so I edited the XF86Config-4 file, still didnt work so I was stupid enough (N00b@linux) t go to /lib/X11R6/X11 or somethin like that and I edited the XF86Config-4.eg or something and now everytime I got to control center, i go to hardware, the display, my mouse get f***ed up and I gotta restart, I really ned help with this STEP BY STEP! Im a very noob to linux, in fact, ive only had it for about 3 days./... i was godd at windoze but it just freakin sux... someone help me wit this.,...

thanx.....

well... don't mess with the mouse part too much - just get it back to where it was. i think all you needed to do was put the "load glx" in the "Modules" section of the XF86Config file.

I found it is very troublesome to install NVIDIA drivers on mandrake 8.2 system, you should go to http://www.nvnews.net/forum/showthre...threadid=12449
