I currently have W2K and MDK 9.2 on one small hard drive (call it HD A). I have a small "backup" HD mounted as slave. I want to change HD A to a larger HD. Ghosting the W2K section is not a problem - I just use the Western Digital Utility Disk but how do I ghost over the Linux portion? I want to ghost over (both W2K and MDK 9.2) to the backup HD, then change HD A to a new, larger one, then ghost both W2K and MDK 9.2 onto the new HD. Thanks!
i know some of the vs will work well with linux, you should do it from cmd line and that might be an issue with win2k and MDK installed. best solution would be to have ghost running on a 2nd system near by and ghost it from one system to the other. that way you would only have to put your new HD into the 2nd system, run ghost, then put the new larger HD back into your computer. all done.
I dont know how you will do the win2k partion, but to "ghost" linux drives, you should get a live cd like gentoo, knoppix. etc; and use the "dd" command. Boot from the live cd and do "dd /dev/hda /dev/hdb" or whatever drive configuration fits your system. I dont think this will work with win2k, especially if it is ntfs, but for future refence.
