Fonts in Mozilla

So I just downloaded Mozilla 1.4 to replace the 1.2.x I have already. Thing is though, that when I start the new 1.4 the fonts are damn ugly and blurry. Whan can one do aout this?

(I've tried looking through the prefeences in Mozilla, without success).

PS.: If my post contains spelling errors it's because the fonts are so bad I'm having trouble reading what I'm writing please forgive me
