i think you'd be best editing the umask in /etc/fstab for the floppy drive, the usual settign for that should be umask=000 i.e. rwxrwxrwx, yours may well be defaulted to 022: rwxr-xr-x.
Also make sure that the UNMOUNTED floppy directory has a suitable ownership
