According to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashp...ech-specs.html the required minimum RAM for Flash Player in Linux is 512mb RAM plus 128mb graphics memory. Your numbers seem normal to me.

Adobe Flash Player is proprietary "closed source" software. The only "professionals [who] can solve the matter" are employed by Adobe.

You could see whether the videos are available in HTML5, that may be better for you.

Another option is to use Minitube or to download the video to your hard drive (if such is legal) and watch with your favorite movie player.

minitube will also of ourse use flash..

Its just that flash support for linux is lacking
thats why linux uses so much of RAM

The HTML5 youtube videos do not use Flash, they are encoded in WebM or h.234 (not sure which) and are supported by modern browsers without any plugins.
However, many videos are not available in HTML5 and for me the HTML5 videos don't play in Firefox correctly. But your experience may be different so it's worth trying.

Sorry, no idea how to work around that. Why would you be logged in as root and browsing the web anyhow?
Edit: Personally I use Chromium rather than Google Chrome as a second browser for viewing HTML5 video and things.

maybe the program running in the flash plugin consumes your memory.
