fips Crashed Now Partition Way Too Small

Hi, I have a PII 300 4 GB machine running Windows 98SE, and I would like to install Red Hat Linux 7.3 on it as well.

I defraged, then tried using the fips utility to partition the HD. Everything seemed to be going fine. fips defaulted my Old Partition to about 4 GB and my New Partition to about 7MB. I tried to use the left- and right-cursor arrow keys to readjust the partition space, and nothing (I mean absolutely NOTHING happened!).

I hit the Enter key by mistake and fips set my 2nd partition to 7MB. I fear that even though linux is terribly resource efficient, this just might not be quite enuff space.

Therefore my question is what to do next and how. Is there a free utility I can use to re-size the partition? Do I need to delete the partion and start over again? If so, how?

Does anyone have a clue why my arrow keys would not adjust the partition size?

Looking forward to any advice you may have for this worthy neophyte : )

Daniel

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-General and has been moved accordingly to help your
thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

Member Intro is a good forum for saying 'hello', but your question fits better where it's now.

Yes, there's a method to resize the partitions. The utility name is 'parted' and it's accessible from Linux installation cd when you run it in 'rescue' mode. Warning: the tool woks in text mode, so it may be a bit hard at the beginning, but just read help and it should go well.
