fedora/vista dual boot - partimage: restored vista - vista won't let me log on
I have an acer 5520 with vista home premium
no cd .. just hidden partition
i put on fedora 8
dual booted fine
booted from system rescue cd
played with gparted and partimage
took image of my current vista partition with partimage
restored image
vista would not boot
i had hidden partition then vista partition
i removed hidden partition so vista partition was first on hard drive
then vista booted
vista boots but when i log in i get a run32dll.exe error or something like that
i have tried many things
ntfsfix - windows hangs at loading os
chntpw - couldn't get windows to even boot
vista safemode - would hang at a driver load
i really wish i had a vista iso or something
i am dangerously close to losing vista
hidden partition is gone
i still have partition that has partimage's vista images
fedora loads fine
what do i do
please help!
how can i save vista (i have cdkey on laptop .. i just need vista cd)
I really hope i can get this image working cause it has all the drivers for laptop installed already
