fdisk -l gives no output

One of the systems I'm looking at is doing something strange (to me), if I run;

fdisk -l

I get no output at all, never seen this before.

any thoughts?

What util-linux version it is? In the latest (2.36), fdisk acquired a new option:
Quote:
fdisk(8) provides a new command line option --list-details to print more
information about partition table.

Older version, 2.235, Debian Jessie I believe -l should work so kind of at a loss.

Not a major issue really, just come across it and was curious more than anything else.

Is your disk bigger than 2TB?
Try
Code:
parted --list
