FC5 hangs after "Probing IDE interface ide0"
I have an HP Pavilion with FC5 and XP dual-booted. After running fine for 2 months, all of a sudden my Linux side hangs after the message "Probing IDE interface ide0". XP has no problems.
I tried both "noprobe ide0" and "noprobe ide1" as kernel arguments with no luck.
I have tried the rescue disk and looked at several things...
/proc/partitions shows

/proc/ide only contains ide1 which is my cd/dvd drive at hdc. I thought there should be a directory for ide0. I was unable to create an ide0 directory by hand.
My machine's BIOS has the following:

First Channel Device 1: None
Second Channel Device 0: TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS-H6522 0603
Second Channel Device 1: None
Third Channel Device 0: ST3320833AS 3.AHH
Fourth Channel Device 0: None
Fifth Channel Device 0: None
Sixth Channel Device 0: None[/HTML]
Any ideas?
