exiftool - can't overwrite date

hi,

I can't figure out why it doesn't work. I have checked many tutorials and they provide the same syntax. Why this error comes up? I wish to change ImageHistory data to null.

Code:
jake@jake-To-be-filled-by-O-E-M:~/Pictures$ exiftool -overwrite_original -ImageHistory=null me5.jpg
Error: [minor] Bad MakerNotes offset for Unknown_0x0000 - me5.jpg
    0 image files updated
1 files weren't updated due to errors
thx

According to the manual, options -fast2 or -F might help dealing with maker notes that the tool can't process.

Thanks. I continued searching and also found that the flag "-m" will skip minor errors. It worked with -m flag.

Any how why the damn error ... no clue.

My guess is that either the camera created invalid maker notes or you used a software tool on the JPEG file that messed up the maker notes.
