eXceed xterm connection problems - please help

I am not too familiar with Hummingbird eXceed, but recently someone brought up a connection issue.

eXceed used to work until recently. Basically, everytime when I try to run eXceed it will immediately popup with an error message that says "Connection Closed (0). I use the rexec option.

I enabled the Event Viewer and the tracing option, but it was utterly useless. The log information just gives version of eXceed, font, and color information. But no specifc error message on why it's closing.

The user's password is correct because he was able to login his account on Linux box with telnet.

A Google search is not helping.

Can some with eXceed experience give me some more trouble shooting tip?

Here's what I've done:

Set the Close Timeout to -1 so it wouldn't auto-close

On Linux Box, setenv DISPLAY win911:0

Thanks much for looking...

First things I would try:
1) Can you manually telnet to the box? Connections/ports are available, etc. Hummingbird doesn't have built in SSH (at least not on the version I have).

2) Are your ports open in your local firewall to allow a connection back? If you start up a session with X-forwarding after turning on exceed, then attempt to run "xcalc" or something, does it even attempt to come back? Is your local machine set to accept connections? (xhost +, etc)

I got the same error message.

I had changed the password on my Linux box, but forgot to change it in the WSW3.xs file

I think wiggleytoes may be correct in that it is a name password issue.
It still could be some connection issue to we'd need to know more about how else you can connect. Simple telnet or other might be a start. If you feel it is actual exceed then try mobaxterm and see if you can get it to work.
