Errors when Compiling Inkscape

Trying to compile Inkscape 0.48.1 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 and I am running into this issue

Code:
checking for Python development environment... skipped
checking for LCMS... yes
checking for POPPLER... no
checking for POPPLER_GFXFONT... no
checking for new color space API in Poppler... no
checking whether Poppler's GfxPatch no longer uses GfxColor... no
checking for LIBWPG... no
checking for IMAGEMAGICK... yes
checking for CAIRO_USER_FONTS... no
checking for INKSCAPE... no
configure: error: Package requirements (gdkmm-2.4  glibmm-2.4 giomm-2.4 gtkmm-2.4 >= 2.10.0  gtk+-2.0  libxml-2.0 >= 2.6.11  libxslt >= 1.0.15  cairo  sigc++-2.0 >= 2.0.12    gthread-2.0 >= 2.0 libpng >= 1.2 gsl) were not met:

No package 'giomm-2.4' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables INKSCAPE_CFLAGS
and INKSCAPE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I did a google search and it seems that glibmm24 supplies the package in question...so I checked if I had it installed...

Code:
[root - inkscape-0.48.1]# rpm -qa | grep glibmm
glibmm24-devel-2.12.10-1.el5
glibmm24-2.12.10-1.el5
I have it installed...yet I am still running into this issue...

Thoughts?

It's erroring on giomm-2.4, not glibmm24. Do you have giomm-2.4(-devel) installed, or rather gtkmm-2.4(-devel) which seems to provide giomm?

Thank you for the correction...

Yes it seems like I have gtkmm-2.4 installed...

Code:
[root - pkgconfig]# yum -y install gtkmm24 gtkmm24-devel
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, rhnplugin, security
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * epel: mirrors.solfo.com
Setting up Install Process
Package gtkmm24-2.10.10-1.el5.i386 already installed and latest version
Package gtkmm24-devel-2.10.10-1.el5.i386 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
Looks like giomm isn't in the repos I currently have...

Code:
[root - pkgconfig]# yum -y list | grep -i giomm
[root - pkgconfig]#
-C

gio should be part of glib. following it, giomm should be part of glibmm.

I have "fixed" the issue by compiling 0.46 instead of 0.48

This version compiled without a problem.
