Unhappy error message "all config not found"


i am new working wif under linux environment. I did an error.. I
typed rm -rf /folder/ . in order to delete the folder. In the end,
all the configuration file is gone. i cannot even ls or ll or cp or
anything.. and when i log off, i couldnt login again. I really need
help badly.. asap. Please help. the message error displayed is "all
config not found" .What should i do now to get the machine working again?

which folder did you rm? In the meantime, I will try to see if I can dig up the "unerase" idea I found once, and see if it will help you.

Well, ok, so, which filesystem are you using? Here's a how to for ext2 (and I would assume ext3 as well?):
undelete how to
And as strange as this would seem, you can use an existing Winbloze OS to recover ext2 data:

I don't know how well either of those work, so hopefully some else might have some better ideas.

rm the folder that contains it

thanks a lot everyone..
i was suppose to replace folderA located in /public_html/folder.
i was in the /public_html/folder when i typed the rm -rf /folderA/ .
