Question Editing PDF files

I know that I can print to pdf files in linux but is there any way to edit the files or do pople use pdf so that others can't change the original document.?

Yep, PDF wasn't meant to be edited...
there's some approaches on freshmeat
to deal with it, though... not that I have
tried any ;)

You could always convert the relevant page(s) to images, edit them and then reconvert them back to a pdf. A bit laborious, though.
