Easily making livecds ?

What's easiest method for creating livecd, or even better img that i can boot from usb memory?

I want to install some text-based software and maybe some graphical too, how i can ensure that the live system is working for many platforms?
Remastering some distro might be the easiest solution, is it possible to roll out an livecd with some virtualizing software (Virtualbox, Qemu) and which distro would suit best for this?

If your using debian try out live-helper. I actually just made a live cd for myself with awesome(wm) and some disk recovery software.

I'm still waiting answer is it possible to roll that livecd by using virtualbox, biggest question is maybe how to get that image out of virtual machine.

Yes, you can build a live CD inside Virtualbox, and you can build a live CD with Virtualbox on it.

You can even build a live CD with Virtualbox on it inside Virtualbox.
