dual boot win7 with already installed mint8, error

hay, i have been trying to dual boot win7 with the mint8 partition i already have on my hdd.
however the win7 cd i have wont let me boot onto it (from boot menu on start-up), and instead just boots into mint.
i have then tried running the setup.exe with wine, this works up until i click the install button, which give me the error message 'windows installation has encountered an unexpected error. verify that the instillation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.' error code 0x80000100.

does anyone have any ideas what i can do to install win7??? am i going about it completely the wrong way??

any help would be very much appreciated as i am completely lost as what to do at the moment

Let's see the output from "sudo fdisk -l" (from a terminal).

Remove the boot flag from sda2 - the M$oft installers used to look for that on NTFS only. Haven't checked Win7.

Won't affect Linux ability to boot - doesn't use the flag.

I had perfectly good CD/DVD do that - try allocating an empty NTFS partition. Make sure it's a primary - maybe add the boot flag as well.

still get the same error . . . this is really starting to bug me now

also i found this on the mint website, 'Because of compatibility issues between wubi/mint4win and grub2, Linux Mint 8 comes without a Windows installer. The development team is working on the issue and new ISOs will be published when it is resolved.'

would this be the cause of my problems, or is it a completely unrelated topic

EDIT: if this is the problem, ill install another linux distro and see doing it in that changes anything
