double clicking on email in evolution

Double clicking any email/or attachment in evolution causes evolution to close. have searched for days and not found a solution. Same thing happens in normal or vertical view. does anyone know how to correct the problem.Removing evolution and re-installing does not correct the problem.

Could it be that installed versions of libevolution and evolution don't match?
Code:
dpkg-query -W {lib,}evolution
