Hi,

This depends a bit on how (and from were) people log in.

Take a look at /etc/motd (man motd), /etc/issue and /etc/issue.net (man issue).

Some individual programs also allow a welcome banner (SSH to name just one).

I assume that you are looking for the /etc/motd sollution.

this is perfect for getting welcome message.

/etc/motd it means it is Message Of The Day.

you can also do configuration with some shell perameters to show date,time etc.
