DISPLAY variable value behind firewall

I am trying to install a java app on a remote linux server which requires DISAPLAY variable set .
I am on a lan connection behind a firewall with a 192.168.1 subnet .
Remote server machine is also behind firewall with a 10. subnet.
The installation is failing because of DIASPLAY variable configuration. I am connected to the remote server machine thru SSH .

can anyone guide me what DISPLAY variable i should put .

Any help

have you tried:

DISPLAY=<remotehostname>:0
export DISPLAY

remote hostname being the name of the host you are ssh conecting to....
that a zero rather than an "o"(letter) btw.....
