Question Differing Sha1sums

Sometime back I downloaded the FC6 DVD image .
I did this twice. The Sha1sum when I downloaded with ncftp did not match so I downloaded with Wget this was OK - for close to 3.5 GB !!,
---
Once or twice the DVD failed the mediacheck so I made an image of the DVD . On taking the SHA1Sum I get a different sum from the original . But I get the same sum . I made more than one image same thing but the SHA1sum stays the same.
I would be grateful for any comments.

Are you saying you went download to HD -> DVD -> HD -> DVD?

If so, and there had been some issue with the original burn, you'd expect the 2 DVD images to be the same and both corrupt.

Reburn from the original ISO

Perhaps I just didn't quite follow.

No you did get what I wrote .
I will repeat . Using your method .
Downloaded ISO > checked sha1sum this matched with published one > burned DVD did media check - this fails Sometimes > from DVD created ISO again This SHA1sum is NOT the same as of the downloaded ISO image .
Now I created the ISO image more than once and checked the SHA1sums these sums akways match but these are not the same as the sum of the riginal download. Which I deleted. Maybe I will download again .
