"could not enter directory /mnt/cdrom"

Every time i try to enter my cd rom it gives me this error. I am also unable to burn cd's. Im am running mandrake 9.1 with kde 3.1. Could it be a problem with Konqueror ?
Any help... Thanks

Could be any number of things. Is the disk in the drive? Is the entry in /etc/fstab correct? Are you issuing the command correctly? Or since I gather you're using a file manager that does the mounting, yeah, it could be configured wrong. It sounds like to me it's just owned by root (and is maybe already mounted). Does it work from the command line?

I have Mandrake 9.2. Maybe you could compare your lilo.conf and fstab entries to mine.

from /etc/fstab:
[CODE]
none /mnt/cdrom2 supermount dev=/dev/scd0,fs=udf:iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0

from /etc/lilo.conf
append="devfs=mount hdd=ide-scsi resume=/dev/hda6 splash=silent"

Also, if your cdrom disc is bad, it won't mount.

Other than that, you could run the k3b setup program, and let it set up your cdrom drive.
