copy cdrom with defective sectors

I tried to copy a cdrom with many defective sectors (about 30.000). I tried to copy it using readcd with the options
Code:
$ readcd -clone -noerror retries=1
. However, every defective sector caused a delay of 10 seconds, which makes copying virtually impossible. Is there a better way to clone a cd with defective sectors?

PS: I don't want to recover the defective sectors, I just want a identical copy of the readable part of the cdrom.
