Configuring DSPAM using qmail??

Hi, I am trying to set up DSPAM on my mail server and am having problems reconfiguring my mail delivery agent. I am using qmail's version of sendmail to deliver mail.

I have updated the following links to incorporate DSPAM
in /usr/sbin:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Aug 25 16:15 sendmail -> /usr/local/bin/dspam
in /usr/lib:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Aug 25 16:15 sendmail -> /usr/local/bin/dspam
these previously pointed to /var/qmail/bin/sendmail

i have set up some aliases and can deliver mail to spam-user@mydomain.com.au but i get this error when doing dspam_stats user to test it
Could not init context: No such file or directory

also, no data files have been created in /var/dspam/

Is this a permissions problem or do i not have my mail being sent through dspam?

Thanks

hi,
permissions problem in my opinion...
put a file (an empty) called ".debug" in your /var/dspam dir (and make sure you compile dspam with the debug parameter)...

let us know what you get?

ok i recompiled dspam with the --debug flag and it created a dspam.debug (not .debug) file. in the file is -
521: [Tue Sep 21 23:00:01 2004] No training mode was specified, you insensitive clod!
1085: [Wed Sep 22 01:23:42 2004] No training mode was specified, you insensitive clod!

im not sure if this is a problem, but i can send and receive mail now. i renamed the "dspam" script to "sendmail" in /var/qmail/bin/sendmail to act as my mail delivery agent. i renamed the actual sendmail i was using before.

The only problem i have now is that mutt cant seem to be able to send mail using the new dspam delivery agent. i have a program which emails reports to me using mutt. the command is something like -
mutt -s "SALES REPORT" -i dflog/sales_report rj1@mydomain.com

i think mutt uses sendmail to deliver mail and i have linked /usr/sbin/sendmail to /var/qmail/bin/sendmail.

no training mode means dspam isn't doing anything to the message.. here's a sample line that makes dspam scan a message and deliver it back to stdout. (depening on your mailsetup you might need to remove the stdout parameter)

/usr/local/bin/dspam --user your.username --mode=toe --stdout --deliver=innocent,spam --feature=ch,no,wh

if you create a file called .debug (an empty one!) in the /var/dspam dir, your dspam.debug log will grow larger with much more info in it.
