At the moment, I can't really tell you the name of hardware manufacturer because I haven't physical access right now but I guess it has been build a year ago by an OEM which has quit service now :-( But that shouldn't matter, I guess. If I can manage it to exchange the underlying hardware platform I would be really happy.

No, I haven't mentioned any GPL issues in my request because I'm a little bit confused if Wind River really has to release the sources to the public. They are a real global player in this business and maybe they have done "something" which allows them to make this closed source...

Okay, I think this can be marked as solved. My project failed due to the lack of a compatible mainboard: I just can't find a Flex ATX motherboard with 2 PCI and 2 PCIe X1 slots which doesn't need a separate 8pin power connector.
But my main question was answered. Thanks!
