CIFS mount creation issue

I am using below command to mount a CIFS, This command is successful for other servers, but it getting fail from one server.

mount -t cifs -o username=administrator,password=pw //ip/share /u03/direct/
mount error 13 = Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g.man mount.cifs)

Var log says

Jan 10 17:07:59 sfahit kernel: Status code returned 0xc000006d NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Jan 10 17:07:59 sfahit kernel: CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -13
Jan 10 17:07:59 sfahit kernel: CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13

Entry also there in fstab , I tried ntlm security and file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777.But nothing helped.Please advise

//ip/share /u03/direct cifs username=administrator,password=pw 1 2

What exactly have you done to test your authentication either onto that remote server or onto that domain?
Have you joined your linux server to that domain?

I really hope you are not using RHEL 4:

https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata

That EOL was nearly 9 years ago.

Also What is the client OS? WinXP, 7, 8, 10, other?

On the MS Windows system you have to have the password set. It cannot be the default for a user of a null p/w. If you have a null p/w cifs will refuse to connect.

Changing the Linux permissions will have zero effect on the MS NTFS or FAT partitions. There is no MS File system that understands *nix type permissions.
