changing the default chmod


I want to change the default chmod

my default chmod is 640

but i want 755

with

linux:/srv/www/htdocs/projekte # chmod -R 755 /srv/www/htdocs/projekte/

i'm only able to change the chmod after uploading ( manuel )

I am not sure if it will change the default but try this:

chmod -R 0755 /srv/www/htdocs/projekte

Or, look at this:

which suggestsm that umask would do what you want (having never used umask, I don't know how to go about it).

Question

chmod -R 0755 /srv/www/htdocs/projekte

dos not work


it works only manuel
with
chmod -R 0755 /srv/www/htdocs/projekte
and
chmod -R 755 /srv/www/htdocs/projekte

or shoud i reboot after

chmod -R 0755 /srv/www/htdocs/projekte

for making it to default ?

I'd look into umask, then... it sounds more like what you want, but as I said, I don't know much about it.
