I was wondering if there are any capture programs for Linux that will allow you to have a resizable window for viewing the images or video beyond the 640x480 max resolution.
For example, in Windows either WinTV or ATI will display video in a window, and you can resize it to any size you want, and the video will fill up the entire window box.
But in Linux, using XawTV, I can expland the window, but the image being displayed will not fill the window when I take it above 640x480. I have tried using the graboverlay feature in it, but then the video gets choppy.
You can still pass options to it using the console. Find the link in the menu option for xawtv in your enlightenment menu file and see how it's called. You can also call it thru an Xconsole as well. I've had it working fullscreen for an All-In-Wonder and a plain-jane TV Wonder.
what do you actaully mean by resize? do you want the image to stay in aspect (i.e. 4x3) or be able to completely change the screen ratio? xawtv should be able to rescale the image just find, but likes to keep it to the right aspect. you won't want the grab feature, just the standard overlay. if the window is not properly filling the screen or similar, try enabling or disabling (never remeber which way round it is) the v4l module in /etc/X11/XF86Config if there is a line saying anything about loading the "v4l" modiule comment it out, if not, add it in, normally in the same section as module "dbe" or similar
